COPS In shops program

 

 

The Cops in Shops Program is a new federally funded program which consists of two officers assigned to a liquor distributor. One (1) officer, in plain clothing, is assigned inside the establishment posing as an employee. The second officer is assigned outside of the establishment in an unmarked patrol car for surveillance of the parking area. The officer inside the establishment is to watch for attempted purchases of alcohol by underage individuals and the outside officer is to watch for anyone purchasing alcohol and providing it to underage individuals in the parking lot.

The Cops in Shops Program was performed on three (3) occasions in 2007 with the results of:

        Two (2) Furnishing Alcohol to Minors Arrests

        Three (3) Underage Drinking Citations Issued

        Ten (10) ID’s were checked
