Detective Unit

Colonial Regional Police Department has two (2) full time Police Detectives. Detective Gary Hammer and Detective Charles Horvath share responsibility in investigating some of the more serious crimes which the patrol officers have encountered.

Along with their other responsibilities, Detective Gary Hammer is the Northampton County Court appointed liaison for Juvenile Court cases, sex abuse cases and child abuse cases and Detective Charles Horvath is the CRPD Evidence Custodian who is responsible for maintaining accountability for all evidence collected by CRPD personnel.

Among the Detective’s accomplishments are:

      323 Initial Incidents

      238 Criminal Investigations Conducted

      75 Criminal Arrests

      22 Search Warrants Executed

      Walk-In Fingerprinting

      Property Room Log Entries

      Evidence Delivery to the PSP Crime Lab

      Seminars provided to the:

          · Lehigh Valley Charter Academy

          · First Commonwealth Credit Union

Detective Charles Horvath also entered forty (40) Identity Theft Cases into the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Consumer Sentinel Identity Theft Database during the year 2007.
